Bronwyn Redding-Jones

As a retail marketing specialist, Bronwyn now has her own marketing management consultancy, based in Muizenberg. Having recently returned from Dubai after eight years working for some of the largest real estate companies, such as EMAAR, her focus is on retail/community integration, retail conceptualisation and spacial reform, market intelligence, research, advertising and marketing strategy. Bronwyn qualified from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, an Honours degree in Marketing and subsequently obtained a diploma in Journalism from the Cape Peninsula  University of Technology. She has worked with established brands like Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Gucci, Chanel, Valentino,  Foschini and American Swiss, as well as overseeing the building of brands both in South Africa and the Middle East.

Bronwyn has always been interested in how to create a positive corporate climate and how to ensure the best performance from employees. As senior marketing manager, her management style ensures a sense of teamwork and esprit de corps that turns a group of individuals into a real team - where employees are allowed to share their ideas and any ideas are taken seriously, where employees are encouraged and empowered to do what is right and where the person inside the employee is recognised. She believes managers should make it easy for others to succeed - be the boss who removes obstacles, creates opportunities and lets others shine by easily giving credit and praise. And most importantly, encourage laughter and fun! In fact it compares so strongly with the SynNovation approach, that upon joining the team, she says it felt like coming home!

She is a passionate campaigner for South Africa and the country's people and believes that South Africa needs more positive mindsets, more educated people to return home and more of us doing what we can to diminish inequality, to make a difference, however small it may seem and however overwhelmed we might feel. "From small things, big things one day come." This is the motto for Rubber Garden (a community job creation & support CBO in Overcome Heights – an informal housing area between Vrygrond & Lavender Hill) for which Bronwyn is the founding volunteer. In her spare time she is also a director of Safer Together as well as the marketing & communications officer for Friends of Muizenberg Park (FoMP).
