Our team

Ferose Oaten - Associate

Ferose is the Managing Director of AVTS Roadworthy Stations, employing 73 staff members at 7 branches in the Cape Peninsula.  AVTS, established in 1992, is the only group of test stations in the country to have achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.  Ferose is also a majority shareholder in Sure Travel Foreshore.

With years of corporate experience at Eskom’s Koeberg Nuclear Power Station, Ferose is also a skilled facilitator and trainer.  She studied librarianship at the University of Cape Town, then went on to work at Koeberg Station, occupying positions ranging from information management to human resources, and finally in quality process management.

Ferose is the chairperson of the Business Women’s Association in Cape Town.  She has served on the BWA Committee for the last 6 years and was recognized and rewarded as a Regional Business Achievers Finalist in 2001.

She currently serves as a Member of the Board of the RMI (Retail Motor Industry), and has previously served on the Boards of the Cross-Border Road Transport Agency and the South Africa Roads Board, both appointments by the Minister of Transport.

She is the Regional Chairperson of the National Vehicle Testing Association and plays a dynamic role in the NVTA’s Free Safety Test Campaigns where motorists are offered safety critical  tests of their cars prior to holiday seasons.

Ferose is married to an exceptionally supportive husband, Brian Oaten, and has a 24 year old daughter and a 17 year old son.
